Post to many accounts in one request
Codex repeats the account flag for every network you name, so one request becomes one post on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and more. Save it as a draft, add it to the queue, or schedule it for a set time.
Connect ContentStudio to Codex, OpenAI's coding agent, with the ContentStudio CLI and skill or the ContentStudio MCP server. Then ask Codex to schedule posts, upload media, and handle approvals across your social accounts without leaving your terminal.

$npm install -g contentstudio-cli $npx skills add contentstudioio/contentstudio-agent $contentstudio auth:login --api-key cs_...Publishes to:
Quick Reference
Core Capabilities
Codex can do anything the ContentStudio CLI and MCP tools expose: post to your accounts, upload media, run approvals, leave comments, and keep each client's workspace separate.
Codex repeats the account flag for every network you name, so one request becomes one post on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and more. Save it as a draft, add it to the queue, or schedule it for a set time.
Through the MCP server, Codex can pull performance data and read and reply to messages.
Generate AI images and videos from a prompt, then attach them to posts in one request.
Approve pending posts or send them back, each with a comment explaining why.
Add public comments or internal notes to any post, and mention teammates.
List posts by status or date, and delete them from ContentStudio or from the social network too.
Set YouTube categories, TikTok privacy, Pinterest links, and Google Business events with a JSON body.
Get a one-time sign-in link for OAuth platforms, or add Bluesky with an app password.
Set the active client workspace, or run one command against another without changing your default.
Setup
Three quick steps are all it takes to connect Codex with ContentStudio and start scheduling your social media from your terminal.
Install the CLI globally with npm. This is what Codex uses to talk to the ContentStudio API.
npm install -g contentstudio-cliInstall the skill file so Codex knows every ContentStudio command without extra prompting. Pick Codex when the installer asks which agents to install into.
npx skills add contentstudioio/contentstudio-agentGenerate an API key from Dashboard → Settings → API Keys, then use it to authenticate the ContentStudio CLI.
contentstudio auth:login --api-key cs_...Prefer a sign-in with no key to manage? Add the ContentStudio MCP server instead.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard Codex uses to call outside tools. Add the ContentStudio MCP server, then sign in with your ContentStudio account.
codex mcp add contentstudio \
--url https://mcp.contentstudio.io/mcp
codex mcp login contentstudioUsing the integration
Anything the ContentStudio CLI or MCP tools expose. Here are a few things you can say to Codex, and the ContentStudio commands it runs behind the scenes.
> Post “Big launch today” with launch.jpg to Facebook, LinkedIn, and X on May 1 at 10 AM.
✓ Codex looks up each account with accounts:list, then runs one posts:create with all three.
> Upload every image in ./photos and create one Instagram feed post per image.
✓ Codex runs media:upload for each file, then posts:create with the returned media ID.
> Schedule a daily post for the next 7 days at 9 AM on our Facebook page, one theme per day.
✓ Seven scheduled posts in your ContentStudio calendar, one per day.
> Schedule clip.mp4 as a public YouTube Short in the Education category with three tags.
✓ Codex writes a JSON body with youtube_options and passes it with --body.
> Approve every pending post from our trusted creator and leave a note on each.
✓ Codex lists posts with status pending_approval and runs posts:approve with a comment.
> Delete drafts older than 30 days. Show me a dry run first.
✓ Codex lists old drafts, previews each delete with --dry-run, then runs it once you say go.
Security & Trust
A key you can revoke, a preview on every write, and typed errors keep every action Codex takes safe and easy to check.
Scoped API key: The CLI uses a single cs_ API key that talks only to the ContentStudio public API. Revoke or replace it anytime without exposing your social account passwords.
Dry-run on every write: Every create, delete, approval, comment, upload, or connect command takes --dry-run, which prints the full request and exits without touching the API.
Human in the loop: Save posts as drafts, or send them through your workspace approval workflow, so your team decides what goes live.
Typed errors: With --json, every command returns the same shape, and each failure has its own exit code, so Codex can tell a bad key from a missing post.

Codex or ChatGPT
No. Both are made by OpenAI and both can run ContentStudio, but ChatGPT is the chat assistant and Codex is the coding agent. They reach ContentStudio through different doors. Using ChatGPT instead? See the ContentStudio ChatGPT integration.

Troubleshooting
Most issues come down to the MCP connection, the API key, or the wrong workspace.
Run contentstudio auth:status. If has_api_key is false, run contentstudio auth:login --api-key cs_... with a key from Dashboard → Settings → API Keys.
Your key is missing or invalid. Generate a fresh one in the dashboard and run auth:login again.
A shell export doesn't carry into a running service. Set CONTENTSTUDIO_API_KEY in the service's own environment, then restart it.
The post, account, or file belongs to a different workspace. Check the active one with contentstudio workspaces:current.
The CLI retries automatically, up to 2 times with backoff. For big jobs, ask Codex to work in smaller batches.
Run codex mcp login contentstudio to sign in again. Can't use a browser? Pass your key in the link: https://mcp.contentstudio.io/mcp?key=YOUR_API_KEY
One account, one set of tools. Pick the agent you already work in, or browse all of them below.
Building something custom? Browse every ContentStudio integration.
Install the CLI and skill or connect the MCP server, and let Codex draft, schedule, and approve social posts from your terminal.
