Agorapulse pricing 2026: What a team really pays beyond the per-user price

You open Sprout Social’s pricing page, see $199 under the Standard plan, and add one line to the budget. For five paid users, Standard costs $11,940 a year on annual billing, equivalent to $995 a month, before add-ons and taxes. That gap between the number on the page and the number on the invoice is the most useful thing to understand about Sprout Social pricing.
For teams comparing budgets, the bigger question is whether every additional user needs to multiply the subscription cost. We also compare Sprout Social with ContentStudio to show how a different pricing model changes the yearly bill.
Sprout Social pricing and contract details are based on its official sources. ContentStudio comparisons use its pricing page, and any unconfirmed details are identified separately.
Sprout Social sells five plans, and each one charges per seat. The table shows the rate for one person on each plan, so you can see the starting point before any team math.
| Plan | Per seat per month, annual billing | Per seat per month, monthly billing | One seat for one year | Social profiles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $79 | $99 | $948 | 5 |
| Standard | $199 | $249 (reported) | $2,388 | 5 |
| Professional | $299 | $399 (reported) | $3,588 | Unlimited |
| Advanced | $399 | $499 (reported) | $4,788 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | Custom quote | Custom quote | Set in the contract |
Sources: Sprout Social’s pricing page and official social media management cost guide. Prices are per paid seat, before taxes and add-ons.
Two points are easy to miss. The listed Sprout Social price is for one seat, so it never describes the cost of a team. Seats and social profiles are also listed as separate allowances, so buying another seat does not clearly add another set of profiles, and that is worth confirming with Sprout Social before you buy.
The billing cycle can change your annual budget considerably. If Hootsuite is also on your shortlist, our Hootsuite pricing breakdown helps you compare its subscription costs before committing.
The advertised rates assume you commit to a year, so your payment schedule changes the cost of Sprout Social more than most people expect. The pricing page header says “Annual billing”, and the plan guide labels the Standard, Professional, and Advanced rates as billed annually.
Using Sprout Social’s published rates, annual billing saves between $240 and $1,200 per seat each year.
| Plan | Annual savings per seat | Savings vs 12 monthly payments | Monthly billing costs this much more |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $240 | 20.2% | 25.3% |
| Standard | $600 | 20.1% | 25.1% |
| Professional | $1,200 | 25.1% | 33.4% |
| Advanced | $1,200 | 20.0% | 25.1% |
The two percentages differ because they use different bases. Professional is about 25% cheaper on annual billing, while its monthly rate is about 33% higher than the annual one.
Sprout Social’s terms describe a third option that looks like monthly billing but behaves like an annual contract. In that arrangement, you pay each month, yet you remain committed for the full year, so the flexibility of true month-to-month billing is not included.
Each step up in price adds specific features, and several tools that teams treat as basic sit above the entry tier. The sections below show what each plan includes and where it stops.
Essentials is built for scheduling and basic reporting. It covers up to 5 profiles, publishing, Optimal Send Times, profile and post-level reporting, a collaborative content calendar, and SproutLink.
Brand keyword monitoring is not included. Listening, Premium Analytics, Employee Advocacy, and Professional Services are listed from Standard upward, while Trellis Plus is available on all plans.
The Sprout Social Standard plan adds the engagement tools that many teams expect to find first. These include a consolidated inbox, collaboration tools, review management, and keyword and location monitoring with 10 brand keywords per group.
The profile limit stays at 5, so the higher price buys capability and not capacity.
Professional is where larger social calendars become possible. It removes the profile cap and adds message tagging, competitor, tag, paid insights, and Enhance Post by AI Assist.
Sprout Social’s feature list also includes message approval workflows, bulk scheduling of up to 350 messages by CSV upload, and competitor reports for the major social networks at this level and above. A team that needs formal approvals therefore cannot stay on Essentials or Standard.
Advanced is aimed at teams that handle customer conversations. It adds Enhance Reply by AI Assist, sentiment analysis in the Smart Inbox and Reviews, helpdesk integrations, team productivity and customer care reports, Message Spike Alerts, and 20 brand keywords per group.
External approval workflows, where a reviewer outside the account signs off without logging in, also start here.
The pricing page lists API access under Advanced. Confirm access requirements, limits, and any additional charges before buying.
Enterprise suits large organizations with custom needs, and Sprout Social describes it as including white-glove onboarding, a dedicated SSO setup service, and priority support. No minimum seat count, contract value, or discount is published, so none of those should be assumed before a written quote arrives.
Several products that buyers often assume are included are sold separately, and most carry no public price. This section covers what those products are and how the AI credit system works.
The pricing page lists the following add-ons, and “Not published” means no dollar amount is shown, not that the product is free.
| Product | Where it is available | Public price |
|---|---|---|
| Premium Analytics | Standard and above | Not published |
| Listening | Standard and above | Not published |
| Employee Advocacy | Standard and above | Not published |
| Professional Services | Standard and above | Not published |
| Trellis Plus | All plans | $28 per seat per month annually, $35 monthly |
| Influencer Marketing | No Sprout plan required | Not published, and creator fees are separate |
Sprout Social’s terms list extra users, profiles, groups, and brand keywords as possible add-ons. The official sources reviewed do not publish a current extra-profile rate. If you need more than five profiles on Standard, confirm availability and pricing before comparing an add-on with an upgrade.
AI is included in every plan, but only up to a limit, and the limit does not grow as you pay more. Every plan includes 100 Trellis credits per seat each month, and Trellis Plus raises that to 1,000 credits per seat at the prices above.
Trellis Chat and Skills consume credits, while AI Assist features do not, and credits reset on your billing date. Moving from Essentials to Advanced does not increase the included credits, so extra AI capacity is a separate purchase.
Because Listening, Premium Analytics, and Employee Advocacy carry no public price, a fully verified total cannot be built from the pricing page alone. That is why the written quote matters, and why the cost of Sprout Social for any team beyond a few seats is best treated as a range until sales confirms it.
Per-seat pricing is easy to read for one person and surprising for a group. The numbers below show how the bill grows as headcount grows, a difference we also cover in our guide on how to choose a social media management tool.
These totals use the annual rates and exclude add-ons and taxes. Each added seat costs the same as the current plan, according to the plan guide, so no volume discount is published.
| Paid seats | Essentials | Standard | Professional | Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $948 | $2,388 | $3,588 | $4,788 |
| 3 | $2,844 | $7,164 | $10,764 | $14,364 |
| 5 | $4,740 | $11,940 | $17,940 | $23,940 |
| 10 | $9,480 | $23,880 | $35,880 | $47,880 |
Use these team totals, not the single-seat headline price, as your comparison point. Our Agorapulse pricing breakdown provides another cost reference, while the ContentStudio comparison below shows the potential savings for the team sizes covered here.
A five-person team on Professional shows how the extras stack up. The base subscription is $299 × 5 × 12 = $17,940.
Trellis Plus for all five seats adds $28 × 5 × 12 = $1,680, for a combined $19,620 a year before taxes and before any quoted add-on such as Listening.
The final cost of Sprout Social depends on contract terms as much as on list prices, and a missed cancellation date can add a full year of fees. The rules below come from Sprout Social’s terms, effective 9 May 2025.
How you cancel depends on how you bought. The table shows the three main arrangements.
| Arrangement | How cancellation works | Money consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Annual plan, paid annually, bought in the app | The Account Owner cancels on the billing page before the next annual pay date | No refund or credit for prepaid unused fees |
| Annual plan, paid monthly | The Account Owner emails the customer success team at least 30 days before the term ends | The annual commitment remains |
| Monthly plan | The Account Owner cancels on the billing page | No refund for prepaid unused fees |
Annual terms renew automatically. Ordinary cancellation, downgrades, and add-on removal do not refund prepaid unused fees. An exception applies to termination following Sprout Social’s uncured material breach.
A downgrade may remove features, capacity, or content. Upgrades are charged at the current price, prorated for the days remaining.
Yes, and the rules differ by billing type. For annual plans, renewal increases can exceed 7% if Sprout Social gives at least 60 days’ notice. A service order may set different terms. For monthly plans, prices can rise from the next monthly pay date after notice.
A few smaller rules also affect the budget. Customers are responsible for applicable taxes. Overdue balances can incur finance charges of 1.5% a month or the highest lawful rate, whichever is lower.
The free trial lasts 30 days and needs no credit card. The official pages describe two entry points, one for Professional and one for Essentials, and the terms warn that content created during a trial may be lost unless a subscription starts before the trial ends.
The same pricing model feels very different depending on team size, so this section walks through four common situations with real numbers.
For one person, per-seat pricing has little effect. One seat costs $948 a year on Essentials for publishing and reporting, or $2,388 on Standard when an inbox and review management are needed.
This is where the model starts to bite. Three people on Standard pay $7,164 a year, and a team that needs approval workflows moves to Professional at $10,764. Five people on Professional pay $17,940.
Essentials and Standard include five profiles. Agencies needing more should confirm whether extra-profile add-ons are available or compare the cost of upgrading.
A five-seat agency on Professional pays $17,940 before Listening or Premium Analytics, which are priced on request, so the quote should cover every client account the agency expects to connect.
Ten seats cost $23,880 on Standard and $47,880 on Advanced, and Enterprise has no public figure. At this size, the written quote matters more than the pricing page.
If Hootsuite is also on your shortlist, see our Hootsuite vs Sprout Social comparison. For a lower-cost team configuration, review the ContentStudio comparison below.
Sprout Social’s strengths are real for teams that need an inbox, review management, approvals, and reporting in one product and have the budget to fund every seat. Buyers for whom the per-seat model does not fit often look at a Sprout Social alternative for growing teams, where cost depends on the plan and not on headcount.
Now that the pricing of Sprout Social is laid out, here is what the same team sizes would pay on ContentStudio, shown the same way.
ContentStudio does not multiply the full subscription price by every team member. Advanced includes two users, with additional users priced separately, while Agency Unlimited includes unlimited users. It offers Standard at $19, Advanced at $49, and Agency Unlimited at $99 per month on annual billing.
Standard includes 5 social accounts and 1 user. Advanced includes 10 accounts, 2 workspaces, and 2 users, with extra users at $10 a month each. Agency Unlimited includes unlimited users and workspaces and starts with 25 accounts.
Full details are in the ContentStudio pricing.
The table compares the cheapest option on each side that covers the stated need, using annual billing.
| Team | Sprout Social option | Sprout Social yearly | ContentStudio option | ContentStudio yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person | Essentials | $948 | Standard | $228 |
| 3 people, approvals needed | Professional | $10,764 | Advanced + 1 extra user | $708 |
| 5 people, approvals needed | Professional | $17,940 | Advanced + 3 extra users | $948 |
| 10 people, approvals needed | Professional | $35,880 | Agency Unlimited | $1,188 |
Sources: Sprout Social annual rates from sproutsocial.com/pricing and ContentStudio rates from contentstudio.io/pricing, both checked on 29 October 2026. The Advanced rows assume the $10 extra-user rate applies on annual billing, which the page does not state separately.
For the team configurations shown, ContentStudio costs substantially less. The difference is especially clear as teams grow, Sprout Social charges the full subscription rate for each paid seat, while ContentStudio offers included users and an unlimited-user agency plan.
The two products differ in scope, so equal team size does not mean equal features. ContentStudio Advanced caps accounts at 10 and workspaces at 2, while Sprout Social Professional offers unlimited profiles.
ContentStudio’s social inbox needs the Advanced plan, and its social listening add-on costs $99 a month on Advanced, which adds $1,188 a year. A feature-by-feature view is available in ContentStudio vs Sprout Social.
Final Words
Your Sprout Social cost comes down to four answers.
Once those four answers are written down, the comparison becomes simple mathematics. A free ContentStudio trial turns the same checklist into a working test, because you can connect your real profiles, try approval workflows on the Advanced plan, and see the yearly total for your own team before committing. You don’t need a credit card to start.
If your team needs approval workflows, confirm that your Sprout trial includes Professional-level features rather than Essentials. To compare value, test the same workflow in ContentStudio Advanced and calculate the cost of giving your whole team access. A useful trial comparison covers both the features you need and the annual subscription required to keep using them.
Only the current Account Owner can cancel. The process depends on the billing arrangement, and some subscriptions require email notice at least 30 days before the term ends. Sprout may delete account information, settings, and content within 30 days of effective cancellation or termination, so export what you need before access ends.
Sprout’s terms describe payment by credit card or PayPal, with an optional backup payment method. Invoiced subscriptions are also available under a service order. Unless otherwise specified, invoiced fees are due on the invoice date, and the account may be suspended if payment is not received within 30 days. Confirm invoicing eligibility and payment terms before signing.
Sprout advertises agency packages but does not publish agency rates or guaranteed discounts on its agency page. ContentStudio Agency Unlimited provides a published alternative: $1,188 a year with unlimited users and workspaces, starting with 25 social accounts. For agencies, that makes the cost of team access easier to budget without multiplying the full plan price by every user.
There is no published standard discount or guaranteed negotiated rate. Any custom pricing must be confirmed in writing. Before spending time negotiating, compare the quote with ContentStudio’s published team pricing. A discount on a per-seat subscription does not automatically make it the lower-cost option for your agency or team.
Adding a paid Sprout seat increases the subscription cost, with prorated charges generally applying under its terms unless the service order states otherwise. ContentStudio handles team access differently: Advanced includes two users and charges separately for additional users, while Agency Unlimited includes unlimited users. Include expected team growth in your comparison, not just today’s headcount.
For the annual-billing configurations compared in this guide, yes. Ten paid users on Sprout Social Professional cost $35,880 a year, compared with $1,188 for ContentStudio Agency Unlimited, which includes unlimited users and starts with 25 social accounts. That is an annual cost difference of $34,692. The products have different features and account allowances, but ContentStudio provides a substantially lower-cost option for team access.
