What is a TikTok script generator? It is an AI tool that writes what you will say and show in a TikTok video. You enter the topic or product, and it returns a script with a scroll-stopping hook, a short body and a call to action. ContentStudio's TikTok script generator is free, has no usage cap and needs no account.

How to use it

How to Use the TikTok Script Generator

ContentStudio's free TikTok script generator writes TikTok scripts from your topic. Enter the idea or product you want to cover and the tool produces a structured script with a hook, body and call to action.

  1. Describe the video

Write the topic, key message or product in one or two sentences.

  2. Add the format and length

Say what kind of video it is (tutorial, storytime, product review, talking head, TikTok Shop) and how long, for example "30 seconds, casual tone". The more you specify, the closer the draft fits.

  3. Generate

Click Generate TikTok script now to get a draft.

  4. Edit before you film

Add personal details, product names and on-screen text notes. Read it out loud once and cut anything that sounds written rather than spoken.

Tip: name your audience in the description ("for first-time bakers"). The hook gets sharper when the tool knows who it is talking to.

What you can write

What you can write with this TikTok script generator

Tutorials and how-tos

Numbered steps that fit 30–60 seconds, with a payoff shown early so viewers stay to the end.

Storytime videos

A one-line setup, a build and a twist. Good for talking-head creators and personal brands.

Product and TikTok Shop videos

Problem, demo, result and an offer. End with one clear action, such as tapping the product link.

Duet, Stitch and trend scripts

Short reaction or response lines that work with a trending sound or someone else's clip.

Talking-head explainers

One idea, three supporting points and a takeaway. Works for B2B, education and coaching accounts.

Ad-style UGC scripts

Creator-style scripts for paid Spark Ads or brand partnerships, written to sound like a real person, not an ad.

Parts of a TikTok script

Structural parts of a TikTok script:

Hook (first 2 to 3 seconds): the opening line or action that stops the scroll. It is a direct claim, a question, a surprising fact or a visual action that gives the viewer a reason to keep watching. Don't introduce yourself or your channel first. Deliver value or curiosity right away.

Body (middle section): the main content. For tutorials: numbered steps. For storytimes: the build. For product content: the demo or comparison. The body should deliver exactly what the hook promised, nothing more.

Call to action (final 2 to 5 seconds): one specific next step: follow for more, comment with your answer, save this for later, check the link in bio or share it with someone who needs it. One call to action works better than several.

Every good TikTok script also notes what appears on screen: text overlays, B-roll and cuts. Put those in brackets next to the line they go with.

Script length

How long should a TikTok script be?

Most people speak at about 130 to 150 words per minute on camera. Use that to size your script:

Video lengthApprox. wordsBest for
15–30 seconds35–75One tip, a reaction, a trend
30–60 seconds75–150Tutorials, product demos, storytimes
60–90 seconds150–225Explainers, multi-step how-tos
2–3 minutes260–450Deep dives and series episodes

TikTok supports much longer videos (in-app recording up to 10 minutes, and longer uploads are widely reported), but most organic content that holds attention stays under 90 seconds. Write the shortest script that fully delivers the hook's promise.

Hook formulas

TikTok script hooks that stop the scroll

Ask the generator for a specific hook type, or swap one of these into your draft:

  • Mistake

"You're washing your face wrong, and it's why you break out."

  • Number

"3 things I wish I knew before opening an Etsy shop."

  • Question

"Have you ever wondered why airport coffee costs $7?"

  • Result first

"This is how I paid off $12k in 14 months." (show the result on screen)

  • Contrarian

"Stop posting every day. Here's what to do instead."

  • POV

"POV: your manager just asked for the report you forgot about."

  • Before / after

    "Same room, $200, one weekend."

  • Direct callout

"If you run a small business and hate filming, watch this."

Writing tips

Tips for writing a TikTok video script

Write for the ear

Short sentences, contractions and everyday words. If a line is hard to say in one breath, split it.

Show the payoff early

Put the finished dish, the result or the reveal in the first seconds, then explain how you got there.

Say your keyword out loud

TikTok reads speech, captions and on-screen text when it matches videos to searches. Say the phrase people search for, such as "sourdough starter tips", in the first lines. The TikTok keyword tool suggests phrases to use.

Plan the caption with the script

The script covers what you say. The post still needs a caption and hashtags. Write them with the TikTok caption generator once the video is cut.

Reuse the script on other short-video apps

A TikTok script can be adapted for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts by trimming or expanding the body. Keep the hook, body and CTA structure.

TikTok's own script tool

TikTok Creative Center scripts vs. this tool

Some people look for a script tool inside TikTok itself. TikTok's Creative Center (ads.tiktok.com/business/creativecenter) includes a Script Generator for ads: you enter an industry, product name and description, and it drafts ad scripts split into scenes with visual, voiceover and text-overlay suggestions. TikTok's Symphony Creative Studio can also write a script and turn it into a video.

TikTok Creative Center

Built for paid ads. Needs a TikTok for Business login. Scenes and overlays for ad creatives.

ContentStudio

Built for organic and promotional creator videos. No account needed. Hook, body and CTA you can film right away.

Need a script for a longer video outside TikTok? Use the YouTube script generator.

How long should a TikTok script be?

Size it to the video. At 130 to 150 spoken words per minute: 15 to 30 seconds is about 35 to 75 words, 30 to 60 seconds about 75 to 150 words, and 60 to 90 seconds about 150 to 225 words. TikTok supports much longer videos, but most engaging organic content stays under 90 seconds.
A good hook says something specific in the first 2 to 3 seconds that gives the viewer a reason to keep watching. Strong formats are a direct claim ("most people do this wrong"), a number ("three things I wish I knew"), a question or a surprising statement. Don't open with a greeting or an introduction.
Yes, with small edits. The hook, body and call to action structure works on all three. Reels and Shorts both allow videos up to 3 minutes, but shorter clips are still the norm, so trim or expand the body to fit. Change any TikTok-specific wording, such as "link in bio" or "Stitch this".
Yes. TikTok's Creative Center has a Script Generator for ad scripts. You enter an industry, product name and description, and it drafts scripts in scenes. It needs a TikTok for Business login and is built for paid ads. ContentStudio's generator covers organic and promotional videos without an ad account.
Hook: "Your sourdough starter isn't dead. You're making one of these 3 mistakes." Body: three quick fixes, each shown on screen. CTA: "Save this for feeding day." That fits a 30-second video. Generate your own above, then schedule the finished TikTok in ContentStudio.
Start with one idea. Write a hook for the first 3 seconds, a body that delivers on it in steps or a short story, and one call to action. Add notes for on-screen text, read it aloud and cut every line you can. Then film in short takes.
Not always, but a short script keeps videos tight, cuts filming time and makes sure the hook lands. Even a bullet-point outline of hook, three points and CTA helps most creators.
Yes. It uses ContentStudio's AI to write an original script from your description. Generate again for a different angle, then edit it in your own words before filming.
